Walking progress while Ascendant is closed
Optional step-goal Quests can now continue tracking through an Android foreground service after the player grants activity recognition. Android shows the required low-priority ongoing notification while it runs. Progress survives restarts, respects the configured Quest-day boundary and can complete a Quest with its normal reward package without requiring the app interface to stay open.
This work does not read health records from another service or change the rewards attached to a Quest. It extends the same on-device step system so everyday movement can be recognised more dependably during internal testing.
Rewards that grow with the Realm
Adventure equipment now receives an increasing chance to improve in rarity as the character advances through the six realms. Greenvale keeps the original outcome-based loot, while later regions progressively improve the result and Ancient Expanse guarantees at least one upgrade step.
The success calculation, XP, Gold and item Power rules were left unchanged. The aim is to make a difficult late-realm victory feel appropriately rewarding without weakening the importance of the real-world Quests that built the character's Power.
Cosmetics tied to achievement
The Merchant now offers the twenty non-starter portraits as permanent cosmetic purchases using in-game Gold. Profile frames moved in the opposite direction: instead of being free from the beginning, each frame unlocks with the first regional-boss victory in its matching realm.
A one-time realm-completion message connects that boss victory to the newly unlocked frame and points toward the next region. Existing saves migrate previous boss victories into the appropriate frame ownership rather than asking the player to earn them again.
Built for more Android screens
The same release included a responsive pass across compact, standard, large and landscape phone layouts, alongside a fix that keeps Ascendant's notification icon available in optimised Android releases. Automated and emulator checks covered these systems before 1.0.11 reached internal testing; the listed background tracking, layout, cosmetic and frame flows still required physical Android verification at this milestone.
